Medicine Making In The Park (Series)

Explore the diverse ways to prepare herbal medicine, in this experiential class. We'll be making medicine together and discovering how to extract in water, alcohol, vinegar, oil, glycerin, and honey. There is much to know about getting the most from our plant medicines and the optimal way to deliver their benefits to support the body. Learn how to make these medicines and how best to apply them, as we learn ways to build the home apothecary.

Recipes, tastings, medicine making and plant id included.

Session 1 (This is a repeat class for those who missed the session one class on 8/6): Infusions, Decoctions & Sun Teas

Discover the benefits of herbal tea, and what’s involved in making the perfect “cuppa”.  Your’ll learn, when to use fresh vs. dried herbs, how to determine the quality of the herbs, when to use hot or cold extractions; to simmer or steep, and the basics of using taste, plant personality and energetics to make therapeutic blends. Recipes, tastings and 2 take home herbal blends are included.

Register for session one. ($55/session), 8/6 @ 2pm
Register for the series. ($200 for 4 live sessions, plus a 60 minute virtual bonus class on fermented herbal sodas, on 8/29 @ 7pm. Session will be recorded for those unable to attend).


Week 2: Tinctures, Glycerites, Vinegars, 8/13 @ 3pm
Week 3: Oils, Linaments, Balms & Creams, 8/20 @2pm
Week 4: Powders, Syrups, Honeys, Herbal Foods, 8/27 @3pm
Week 1: Infusions, Decotions, & Sun Teas, 9/3, @ 2pm….
